Whether you have a business premises or HMO, you have a duty of care to provide adequate emergency lighting. Annual testing and maintenance of emergency lighting is essential in order to identify failed fittings and continued compliance to BS5266.
We offer installation of all emergency lighting types from standard bulkheads to twin spot flood fittings. All emergency lights fitted with test key switches to comply with BS5266 and tested to ensure 3 hour operation in event of a mains power failure.
What we offer:
To ensure continued functionality of the emergency lighting, routine testing should be carried out and where testing has highlighted failures of existing fittings these should be repaired and replaced.
Similarly, if routine inspection has highlighted the need for further emergency lighting or extension/modification to existing systems, Speedek Services Limited can carry this work
During an annual inspection we carry out a full 3 hour test of all emergency light fittings. A test sheet is compiled detailing locations and types of fittings.
On completion of the test a certificate is issued indicating any failed fittings and recommendations in compliance with BS5266.
Most manufacturers of emergency lights recommend that batteries and replaced after a period of at least 4 years.
We can supply and fit most batteries to existing emergency light fittings where the battery has failed, thereby cutting down the cost of replacing the fittings.
Monthly Testing requires a function test of less than one quarter of the rated duration as well as visual checks for any signs of damage to fittings.
Any device whose indicator does not light or lamps which are dim should be replaced immediately and recorded in a log book.
We provide a monthly or six-monthly testing service for customers who require compliance to BS5266 and we also offer full training to dedicated staff within your organisation to carry out monthly testing.
Emergency light system log books can be supplied and advice given on recording events in the log book.
